MPOB F1 Xtra K Fertilizer
Higher K nutrient
MPOB introduces the specially formulated MPOB F1 Xtra K fertilizer for use in areas with low Potassium (K) as well as in the high FFB yielding areas. Applying MPOB F1 Xtra K in the high FFB yielding areas will supplement the soil nutrients, especially the K nutrient, removed in the harvested crops.
MPOB F1 Xtra K is similarly produced as the MPOB F1 through a dry compaction process using high quality raw materials. The difference is in the K content which is 25% more than that in the MPOB F1. Through the dry compaction process, the materials are mixed and compacted to become hard and irregular-sized compound granules which may last up to 6 months in the soil, thus acting as slow release fertilizer.
The formulation of the various raw materials used in the production of the MPOB F1 Xtra K is listed in Table 1.
Ammonium Sulphate (AS) is used as the Nitrogen source in the MPOB F1 Xtra K. AS is more stable in the soil compared with other Nitrogen sources such as Urea and Ammonium Nitrate. The source of Potassium is Muriate of Potash (MOP) while the Phosphate source is high water-soluble Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP). Kieserite is used as the Magnesium (Mg) source and borax is used as the Boron source.
